My tutoring career started in my senior year of high school when I was accepted into our math honor society. I began tutoring fellow students at my school for scholarship volunteer hours. When I graduated and started attending State College of Florida, I got a job tutoring in the Disability Resource Center where I encountered all sorts of disabilities including, but not limited to, blindness, deafness, loss of limb movement, palsy, behavioral disorders, math dyslexia, math anxiety, test anxiety, and learning disabilities. Learning about so many different types of handicaps made me passionate about teaching. Everyone learns differently and it was my job to find out how each student learns best. In an effort to normalize the process of receiving help and diminish the shyness or embarrassment for the DRC accommodated students, all of the tutoring was transferred to the Academic Resource Center, where anyone from any high school or college is welcome to study and learn.

I have been working as a tutor at SCF for 7 years while I acquired my A.A. debt free and prepared to get my bachelor's degree. I currently attend New College of Florida in Sarasota and am working towards a degree in pure mathematics with a hope of teaching. The wonderful thing about tutoring at a college is that all of the material stays fresh in my mind due to all of the constant practice. What I do is so fulfilling to me, I love to see my students succeed where they thought they never could, and even sometimes develop an avidness where they never suspected.

As a student who is going for a math degree, I understand how math connects to itself, but really what makes a tutor great are the teaching qualities they possess. Because I have been employed as a tutor for a long time, I really understand how to get information across, not just the material.

I am really lenient about location and I have a very broad spectrum of knowledge on all kinds of math! I encourage you to contact me to see if I am a right fit for your academic needs.

I started my collegiate tutoring career as a tutor for disabled students, tutoring those with all types of handicaps and impairments. I have dealt with many different types of disabilities including behavioral disorders, learning disabilities, and physical limitations, so I have a lot of patience and experience with students who have special needs.

I have taken Discrete Math at State College of Florida and received a 97% in the class overall in my very last semester before graduating. I learned a lot about group theory, graph theory, number theory and proof techniques that I have been using while working on my bachelor's degree at New College of Florida. Everything I learned in the class, I have been able to apply to my baccalaureate studies, and so it is all quite fresh. It was easily my most valued class at SCF.
