My approach to tutoring is to understand why my student needs tutoring in a subject. The reason or reasons can be many. You may not like the subject. You may have had a teacher that presented information that wasn't helpful to your learning style. Example: You are a visual learner who needs to see and read everything, but your teacher gives lectures all the time. That's great if you're learning style is auditory, but challenging if that's not your style. Whatever your difficulty was, I would create and utilize very personalized and individualized lesson plans to address your personal learning style and help you improve your grades, understanding of the subject, and empower you to use skills you may not have even known you possessed.
I am a B.S., Ohio State University, College of Education State of Florida Certified Social Sciences Teacher, Grades 7-12. I have taught a wide range of students and have a great deal of satisfaction that I made it possible for many of my students to graduate and to achieve academic success that they never dreamt was possible. If you are looking for a tutor who listens to you so that she can get to the real issues that are stopping you from doing your best, than contact me. I promise that respect has to be mutual. Ask me questions, especially ones that start with "what if." I have a very flexible schedule, and would arrange times to best serve your needs. I hope to hear from you now.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
