About Martin

My teaching and tutoring experience covers both technology subjects and instrumental music on all brass instruments, clarinet, bass clarinet and flute. I have been an Adjunct instructor at ITT Technical Institute for Digital Communications Systems Engineering courses and an Adjunct instructor at Union County College for A+ Microcomputer Certification Training Programs; PC trouble shooting (hardware and software), LANS, Data communications, uP architecture and assembler, number systems and codes. Also taught MS Office Professional applications.

As a seasoned musician currently playing in three symphonic bands, I have had the pleasure of tutoring students on their school music as well as supplemental exercises that I provide. I have personally played all the instruments in the brass family from trumpet to tuba along with the woodwinds stated above.

As an industry consultant and expert witness electronics design engineer and inventor, I have used all branches of mathematics in the course of my design work.

As a seasoned Sr. Engineering executive holding both BSEE and MSEE degrees from Newark College of Engineering (now part of NJ Institute of Technology) I have had the opportunity to conduct staff training programs and individual mentoring. During my 35 year tenure as a consulting engineer and expert witness in technical litigation cases, I have used my extensive engineering background to teach attorneys, judges and jurors during both direct testimony and depositions the technical interpretation of the case details.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

I hold a master of science degree in electronic engineering and have been trained in all aspects of advanced math which require a foundation starting with elementary math. I have taught both math and computer related subjects for several years. Each new level of math requires the skills mastered in the prior level in order to succeed.

Algebra 2

I hold a master of science degree in electronic engineering and have been trained in all aspects of advanced math which includes algebra, geometry, analytical geometry, trigonometry, calculus and differential equations. Knowledge of algebra 2 is a prerequisite for advanced math required in science and engineering. I have taught and applied math throughout my engineering and tutoring career.
