Although I am native to the U.S., I have lived and worked in other countries, so I know what it feels like to learn a new language. I also speak several languages, so I understand the particular difficulties of certain speakers in learning English and French. I am an effective English and French tutor in Grammar, Reading and Test Prep Skills.
I have an MATL, a Master of Arts in the Teaching of Languages, a specific degree attainable only in few colleges in the U.S. I am a certified ESL and French instructor, and I have taught at the middle school, high school, and Community College levels. I will zero in on your specific needs and come ready to help you meet your goals. Together, we can. I have been with Sharon for several classes already and I am very impressed by her teaching. She is very experienced, knowledgeable, and patient. She really knows her stuff. Most importantly, she is very responsible and prepares a lot before class. That makes every minute of our class efficient. And I feel I learned a lot every time we meet. Although every American can speak very good English. But I don't think every native speaker can teach English well. My experiences were that even someone was very knowledgeable but if he or she didn't prepare beforehand, it would make the class not efficient and I couldn't learn a lot in one class. So I really care about teachers' preparations before class. And I think Sharon is just perfect and I am sure whoever will learn from her can definitely have a lot of improvements in quickest time. I am enjoying my class with Sharon a lot!
Thank you so much for the nice review. I really appreciate it.
It was easy to understand by using texts. The text that I could not do within hours got homework. She spoke very slowly. Her English to speak was easy to understand.I will do my best for the next lesson too.
Sharon was a great tutor to my daughter for her 6th and 7th grade French. Punctual, reliable, and always on time. Highly recommended!
Sharon is patient and encouraging. She knows French thoroughly and gives great examples of the cultural differences between the U.S. and France, which is helpful in learning the language. I feel very comfortable with her and enjoy our lessons very much.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I attended an immersion school in Hebrew when I was a child, kindergarten through 8th grade and learned to speak fluently. I was certified by the state of NJ to teach Hebrew at the secondary level which I did at Fort Lee High School in NJ. I spent four years living in Israel where I perfected my Hebrew to native fluency.
Before moving to Middlesex County, I was an adjunct professor at Bergen County Community College where I taught English language learners in the American Language Department. I would be happy to coach you and help you prepare for your TOEFL test.
