“**Much More Than A Tutor -- He Really Gets It!**”

EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION is at the heart of teaching. A deep knowledge of the subject matter must be there BUT if all you are is good in math you're not a teacher!

I am a retired math teacher from the Rochester, New York area. I have taught at the middle school, high school and college

Middle School Honors Algebra and Honors Geometry are tough, even for the best students. The challenge is often compounded by teachers who have difficulty in three key areas: (1) explaining concepts to students;, (2) teaching students how to "think"; and (3) properly preparing students for tests and FSA exams. Phil excels in all three areas. My daughter was struggling with Honors Algebra during the second semester of 7th grade. We tried three different tutors who were adequate enough to get her through the rest of the year. When the 8th Grade school year rolled around, however, we got smarter. My daughter began working with Phil from Day 1 in Honors Geometry. What a difference! Phil has the ability to relate to students. He built an outstanding rapport with my daughter through communication, trust, respect, and humor. Phil not only took the time to get to know my daughter, but he also bonded with me, my wife, and the rest of my family. My daughter worked with Phil the entire school year and made straight A's in Honors Geometry. Phil not only went over concepts with her but, more importantly, gave her the tools and guidance she needed to be able to "think" on her own and properly approach problem-solving. My daughter was actually able to apply many of these same strategies in her other classes. Phil is extremely patient, has a great sense of humor, and is a true people person. My daughter looks forward to each session with him. Phil is also readily available for special sessions and extra preparation prior to tests and exams. I am thrilled to have Phil as my daughter's tutor and give him my highest recommendation. He really gets it!

Lexi's first words to me were, "I learned!" Those words are priceless. Phillip is an excellent Tutor. Thank you very much for helping lexi!

My daughter felt at ease with him and she said he is a "math nut" , which means he good!

My daughter has been with other tutors but Philip has been the most effective getting her grade up from a C to an A. She takes algebra 1 in 7th grade and it's very fast paced. He fills in all the gaps. He makes her confident and encourages her to take the challenge. I hope he will continue to take her through high school !!!

This is the best tutor by all means. He is patient and knows how to interact with students. I was being tutored by someone else for college calculus. When they could no longer accommodate me, I reached out to Mr. P who took the time to look over all my classwork and test. Needless to say, the next three tests including my final were all A's! This tutor ROCKS!

He is a wonderful tutor who knows how to get the student to learn the subject. We highly recommend him.

I highly recommend Mr. Philip! He is an excellent tutor, teacher, and overall great mathematician. He has been helping my 17 year old daughter deal with her math phobias and helping her become an excellent math student. Thank you, Mr. Philip.

In two sessions Phil has helped bring back my daughter's confidence, and actually given her more insight to geometry than she had. He is extremely personable and my daughter feels very comfortable. He is very knowledgeable in the subject matter. We're very happy.

My son was struggling in Honors Algebra II. He informed me 2 days prior to an exam he was about to take that he had no idea how to do the work and needed help. I spoke with a friend at work who told me about this site, so I went on line and after an hour or so decided to give it a try. I researched the tutors in our area and that's when I came across Mr. Philip P. Even though there wasn't much time, Mr. P. was accommodating in squeezing in my son the night before his exam. Mr. P. spent two hours with my son and the results were amazing, my son scored a 94.0 on his exam, boosting his overall grade point average. Mr. Parisi is not a tutor, he's a teacher! This was the best money I've spent in a long time. Thank you Mr. Parisi for all of your help!!!

Great tutor experience with Phil. He explains the math processes in a way that makes it easier to understand.

Thank you so much for coming to our rescue. You came with last minute notice and taught my daughter in that one hour lesson everything she needed to know to pass her exam and for that I am truly grateful. She was at a total lost and she came away with knowledge and confidence to get a "92". The night before she totally was at a lost.

You made her feel comfortable and brought out her willingness to ask questions and made sure she understood what was going on. She enjoyed your way of teaching.

Look forward to using your services again.

Here he comes to save the day.....Phil is on the way! We hired Phil to tutor our 7th grade son in advanced math after switching school and falling behind. He instantly established rapport with our son, something difficult to do with a 13 year old. What a difference a excellent teacher makes in the life of a student! Our son not only improved his grade from a "D" to an "B" in a little over a month but also thanks to Phil, he no longer "hates" math! Phil has a gift for teaching math in an practical, applicable way that makes sense not just on paper but in life. Our son is no longer terrified and overwhelmed by math homework and tests. Thanks to Phil he now has the knowledge and confidence to "do math" and do it well. We highly recommend him!

Phil is wonderful! In just the first session he's had with my son he's been able to do what his math teacher couldn't do for the whole term so far! He was able to sum up my son's abilities and weaknesses and explain very clearly how to solve the math problems that he's been struggling with all term.

Very patient and willing to help. Excellent - highly recommended.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1 is the foundation for the math courses that follow. In order to do well, students must UNDERSTAND the concepts presented not merely “get the answer.” I have had great success teaching the concepts as well as the mechanics in a fun and interesting way. You’re never too old or too young to laugh while learning math!

Algebra 2 delves deeper into the concepts and skills introduced in Algebra 1 as well as introducing analytical geometry. In order to do well, students must UNDERSTAND the concepts presented not merely “get the answer.” I have had great success teaching the concepts as well as the mechanics in a fun and interesting way. You’re never too old or too young to laugh while learning math!

Calculus I is primarily concerned with understanding the idea of a derivative, techniques of derivation and applications of derivatives. Calculus 2 covers integration in the same manner. In order to do well, students must UNDERSTAND the concepts presented not merely “get the answer.” I have had great success teaching the concepts as well as the mechanics in a fun and interesting way. Geometry uses some different skills from those used in algebra. Some of those skills are memorization and presenting concise arguments. In order to do well, students must UNDERSTAND the concepts presented not merely “get the answer.” I have had great success teaching the concepts as well as the mechanics in a fun and interesting way. Pre-Algebra is a basic skills course which includes factoring and set theory. I have had great success teaching the concepts as well as the mechanics in a fun and interesting way. You’re never too old or too young to laugh while learning math!

Precalculus reviews concepts and skills introduced in Algebra 2 and introduces students to exponential and logarithmic functions, sequences, and series. In order to do well, students must UNDERSTAND the concepts presented not merely “get the answer.” I have had great success teaching the concepts as well as the mechanics in a fun and interesting way. Trigonometry requires familiarity with the unit circle along with skills used in algebra. In order to do well, students must UNDERSTAND the concepts presented not merely “get the answer.” I have had great success teaching the concepts as well as the mechanics in a fun and interesting way.
