Career Development

I come from a family of self-made entrepreneurs who played as hard as they worked. At the age of 18 I joined the U.S. Army, which quickly cured me of a large chip on my shoulder. The military taught me the importance of discipline, integrity, respect and appreciation. After discharge I parlayed the technical training I received in the Army with a University education and began a successful career as a computer engineer. I had an uncanny ability to grasp the technical aspects of my job — but I found that I also had a knack for the soft skills; interpersonal skills, and office politics. This would eventually come to be known as ‘Emotional Intelligence.’ When my coworkers were complaining about bosses and their business decisions, I found myself subtly mentoring my peers on how to cope and/or deal with others and situations. This is a slippery slope of course — because it is easy to cross the line and be seen as meddler. As I often say, you can show people the buzzsaw, but you can’t stop them from walking into it. Fast forward several years, as a member of the Board of Directors for the Project Management Institute’s South Florida Chapter, I was responsible for Continuing Education for our membership. I launched two initiatives that I am very proud of: a Think Tank and a Mentoring Program, the latter of which focused on how to relate to business and speak the language of business leaders. My efforts in assisting others in their career growth has been the most rewarding of my 30+ year career. I’ve helped men and women from pre-college age to seasoned managers in both industry and government. I would love to help you too!

Project Management

Mr. Albert C. has over 30 years experience managing highly complex IT Projects and Programs. He is especially skilled in using a hybrid management approach, utilizing Agile and Traditional methodologies. Mr. C.'s career began as a hardware design engineer, having designed Asynchronous and Synchronous communications controllers with RS-232, 422, 423, current-loop and other industry standard interfaces. His Ethernet Ethernet Controller was the first to transmit and receive packets fast enough to saturate the network; having no inter-packet gaps. Mr. C. managed R&D teams in the development of global Inter-networking Bridges, Routers, Gateways, Hubs, Switches; appliances that made up the Intranets of Fortune 100 companies and the early Internet.
