Summer is the perfect time to hire a tutor because studies show that students regress two years over the summer when they do not continue with reading, writing, and math. I conduct a mini classroom environment covering all three subjects within an hour period for many students each summer to help students retain information in between school years. I am looking forward to hearing from you! :-)
I am known to have a wonderful rapport with all of my students and their families because of my easy going, friendly, enthusiastic, and warm personality. My goal each day is to make each child in my classroom laugh and feel special about him or herself. I am extremely passionate about teaching, striving to help each student reach his or her furthest potential each time we work together. My rate is based on the average tutoring rate in the area. Please note that WyzAnt also takes out a 40% commission, so tutors do not make the posted rate.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

As an elementary school teacher for the last ten years, I am responsible for teaching both print writing and cursive writing to my students throughout my career and have impeccable penmanship.
As a first grade teacher for the last six school years, I have taught students how to read and recognize letter sounds, which has carried over into every grade I have taught or tutored.
I am qualified to teach study skills since my students take tests weekly on each of the Common Core subjects. I teach them study skills daily, along with students I tutor. As a teacher and tutor of students who take the FSA (and formerly the FCAT), I am constantly teaching study skills for the various state exams. I also have plenty of experience studying since I hold two Master's degrees and a bachelor's degree.
