I have been teaching and tutoring for over 15 years. I love the ah ha moments. I also like getting to know the student as a person. It helps me to individualize the tutoring. I can use examples that will hold their interest. For example, if we are studying parabolas and you play basketball, we will go outside and shoot. The basketball's path must be parabolic to swish into the net. To truly understand math you must be able to think mathematically. I will help you reach that understanding.
I was a high school mathematics instructor at Orange County Public Schools for the past fifteen years , having worked my way from Algebra 1A to AP Statistics and Honors Calculus. It has been beneficial to have seen the vertical progression students take from the beginning to the end of high school math courses. I am certified in College Board Springboard and AP Statistics.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
