In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I've always been draw to art as a kid and was placed or selected to participate in art as a young student. I received a 2 year summer scholarship for an art and design program for high school students. Throughout my college career I've had to use my drawing skills within my major as a graphic designer during my undergrad pursuing my BFA in graphic Design as well as my current status in grad school for my MFA in advertisement degree.
