I was very happy with the help that I received and I understood the material. I have never gotten higher than the minimum passing grade in math but I received an A this semester all due to the excellent tutoring I got from Dr. L. I would highly recommend anyone that needs math help Dr. L is the person to go to.

Dr. L is an excellent tutor. He is teaching calculus to my daughter. She scored 5 in her AP calculus AB exam last year. Now she is getting lessons in AP calculus BC. I am very happy with my daughter's performance and I will recommend Dr. L if you are looking for a math tutor. Thanks Dr. L for your help and support.

This past semester I had Dr. L tutor for my Calculus I class. Dr. L was a great teacher who was extremely knowledgeable about the subject matter. Each lesson we went through the chapter that I was currently on in depth. He would start by giving an overview that really helped me to understand the concepts before delving into the specific work. Every section we worked through, Dr. L was able to simplify the concepts all from memory alone, which was very impressive. When it came to homework and projects, Dr. L was also extremely helpful. It seemed that he knew how to approach each problem from multiple angles. This was important in that it allowed me to fully understand every element of the subject. Now, after the semester, I can confidently say that I know calculus in its concepts and workings of the basic problems. I am very happy with my tutoring and would definitely go back to ask for further help in future courses.

2 Big Points

-The price is phenomenal for a tutor of his abilities

-He also drastically helped me with my big project for the semester

Thanks Dr. L!

Dr. L. is proficient in helping students master the material that they are being tutored for. Dr. L. goes a step further and focuses on helping the student build the necessary skills to study, comprehend, and set goals to ensure their overall academic success.

Larry is absolutely fabulous! Not only is he a wonderful person he is a terrific tutor. Larry and my son worked very diligently on strategy to prepare for the SAT Math 2. After that the SAT score came back with 770 points. We are extremely happy with the results and my son enjoyed working with Larry. We highly recommend Larry.

Within 3 days of having contacted Mr. L., he was standing at my front door - ready to offer a helping hand on AP Physics B. Within our first two and a half hour session, not only did fluid mechanics, waves, and magnetism suddenly makes sense to me, but I was taught some valuable studying and note taking tips as well.

Mr. L. truly knows what he's doing and he has a very effective way of passing that knowledge on to people who are willing to listen.

Larry knows how math is applied and has many years of real work experience using all math as an engineer. This makes him a great example to someone of a person who has works as a professional using his math skills. He is also very patient and very kind. Highly recommended.

My experience with Larry has been great. He is punctual and always prepared for the session even when I'm not. He has made the information easier for me to understand. I give him two thumbs up!!!

Dr L is teaching my daughter and son Algebra and in only a few short lessons, they have developed a great deal of self confidence because of Dr L's ability to identify their areas of weakness and address those rather than plodding along teaching concepts that they have already mastered. I would highly recommend this tutor!

I've been scared of math for a very long time now. I withdrew from intermediate algebra twice and my SAT math scores have expired. The only way for me to place into a new math class is by taking the College Placement Test in Mathematics. I decided to tutor with Dr. L and we went systematically through the review material provided by the college. If I didn't know how to answer a problem, he showed me how. If I knew how to solve a problem but there was a better way, he showed me how. He loves to teach and knows how to teach. I'm ready for my Placement Test and I wouldn't have gotten there without Dr. L.

My wife and I truly believe Dr. L.’s tutoring has been the reason our daughter has gone from a below average grade to a B in honors physics. In part because of the teaching style of her high school physics teacher, and our daughter's failure to adequately grasp the concepts being presented, she was falling further and further behind and we were quite concerned. Physics concepts never seemed to stick with her and no one concept could relate to the next. By Dr. L. explaining the concepts in more real-life scenarios, then showing her what to do, watching her do it and gently correcting her mistakes, she has been able raise her grade and gain more self-confidence in the class. My wife and I highly recommend Dr. L.

Larry is an excellent tutor and very patient. He is able to take complex subject's and break them down into simple understandable componets. Very flexibile meeting hours, great understanding of material, and truly has a special gift to teach. Without Larry my Physics class would still seem like another language, but he has been able to work through any questions I have and is willing to spend as much time as needed until the subject is understood.

We have never had the help of a tutor before and I was a little concerned...would the tutor be a good fit for my child? Would he/she be worth the money? Would they really make a difference? And Larry gave me the answers I was looking for--YES, YES, YES!!! My 14 year old son has struggled with Algebra for over a year. He had sought help through school tutoring programs, but to know avail. We have had only 3 sessions w/Larry and the difference in my son's grade is already apparent! Larry is extremely knowledgeable, patient and has a way of making Algebra make sense! :). I'd highly recommend his services to anyone! We will continue to use Larry's services for years to come.

Dr L is an excellent choice for Math. He is able to explain and perform the answer to the problems.

Enjoyed his teaching speed. Dr. L is so knowledgeable in algebra, he can help to explain clearly the process. Also, makes the lesson easy to understand and does not waste any time for you.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have done both SAT and FCAT tutoring -- which are similar to the ACT test. For all of these tests, we need to work through a workbook that has sample problems. I recommend the Kaplan test prep book for the SAT test and the Cliff Notes Test Prep Book for the ACT test. These can be purchased at a bookstore or at Amazon. In order to do well on the test, it is important to master the material in the sample tests. This may take a longer or shorter time -- depending on the student's background and ability. If the student needs a lot of preparation, you may want to tutor more than once a week.

I have taught various levels of math at a middle high school and at 4 different colleges for more than twelve years and I have tutored math for five years. I have experience teaching and tutoring everything from pre-algebra to calculus and differential equations. I am familiar with what courses an Algebra 1 student typically has already taken and what he needs to learn in order to be ready for his next course.

I emphasize teaching students how to work problems. This approach is easier for them to grasp than a more traditional lecture style approach. It is also more interesting for the students.

I am good at working with students who are failing and with students who want to get straight A's. I get along well with most students and can make learning interesting. I am very patient and encouraging.

I have found in my teaching that most students have not been taught good study habits or test taking skills. Therefore I give my students very specific and useful advice on how to study, and take tests. I also help them develop good problem solving skills. This advice helps my students to learn more easily and do better in their courses.

I have taught various levels of math at 4 different colleges for eight years and I have tutored math for two years. I have experience teaching everything from pre-algebra to calculus and differential equations. I am familiar with what courses a student typically has already taken and what he needs to know for his next course. I try to use common sense examples that are easy to understand. I can help the student who is failing and the student who wants to get straight A's. I get along well with most students and can make learning interesting. I am very patient and encouraging.

Calculus is somewhat different from algebra, but when presented properly it is not that hard to learn. I have a PhD in Physics and so I have a lot of experience using calculus to solve physics problems. I have a good background for teaching both calculus theory and applied calculus.

I have a PhD in physics which involves solving many different kinds of differential equations. I have also taught an undergraduate course in differential equations and taken several applied math courses that deal with differential equations. I also work with students to teach them better study habits and test taking techniques.

I have helped many students study for standardized tests and the GED test in particular. I have had good success in helping students learn the material and pass the tests. I help students to learn good study and test taking techniques which is very important. And I help students develop problem solving techniques that are important for math and physics problems.
