About Juliana

Dear parents,

Thank you for considering me to work with your child to strengthen his or her academic skills, confidence, and motivation! As a dual certified teacher I hold the following teaching certificates: Elementary School Teacher (K-5) and Teacher of Students with Disabilities (K-12). Additionally, I hold a master's degree in special education from Rutgers University and am a certified Learning Disabilities-Teacher Consultant and Nationally Certified Educational Diagnostician. My professional experiences as an educator have been in high-achieving school districts where I have worked with students with and without disabilities to achieve their full potential and become self-motivated learners. I am well-versed in identification and remediation of learning disabilities, including specific strategies and instructional methods. I have experience both designing and implementing effective, high-quality instruction in a rigorouseducational setting. I frequently complete educational evaluations to determine a student's specific strengths and weaknesses and make recommendations for appropriate programming and strategies to address a child's individual weaknesses.

My approach is one of motivating students with appropriately challenging activities tailored to each student's individual interests and skill level. I will work with your child to build confidence through success and increases his or her academic strength and stamina through both strategy and skill instruction.

Whether you are seeking to maintain skills, preteach before the upcoming school year, or reinforce areas of weakness, I am ready and willing to work with your child and family to design an instructional program that meets your child's unique needs and will tailor instruction to your goals.

I look forward to working with you and your child to reach his or her fullest potential!

Best regards,
Juliana C.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
