Berklee College of Music
With experience in many different areas, I intend to help each student I teach with a singular and specified approach.
When it comes to music, I have real-world experience, having been a professional in this industry for over 15 years. A professional does not a teacher make, however, so I acquired a degree from Berklee College of Music not just in Vocal Performance and Music Business, but also in Private Studio Teaching. I focus on Contemporary Music with a very strong emphasis on technique. I believe that even pop stars should know how to treat their voices with due respect!
I don't just teach music, however. I am able to transfer other real-world skills to my students, including those I acquired writing for an online magazine for many years. I've also tutored basic math, as well as other elementary subjects (all necessary to receive my degree.)
My teaching method is a simple one. No one student is the same. Not every student, therefore, will learn the same way. I always get to know my students. I read them and figure out methods that suit them, their learning methodology and their personality. Most importantly, I do it all with a smile on my face. If you're not enjoying what you're doing- or if you're learning in a negative environment, I guarantee it will not sink in.
I love teaching, and I look forward to connecting with new students in the area! With experience in many different areas, I intend to help each student I teach with a singular and specified approach.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
My bachelor of music included multiple composition classes. Arranging, Songwriting, Music Composition 1-4, etc. This is also what I currently do for a living (composing music for various media.)
I've tutored children ages 5-13 for 11 years in Math, Science, Social Studies and English. I also needed to take proficiency tests in all of these subjects to receive my credit as a Private Studio Teacher. I passed all subjects with flying colors.
Having graduated with honors from Berklee College of Music with a degree in Vocal Performance and Music Business, as well as a concentration in Private Studio Teaching, I am qualified to teach General Music.
I am Israeli born with dual citizenship (the US and Israel). I speak, read and write Hebrew, and would be comfortable teaching up until an intermediate level.
I currently teach music history to elementary students at a local private school, I also offer a one-on-one rock history course. My bachelor of music offered me two history of western music classes, a rock history and jazz history class.
I work in a studio as an assistant engineer, producer, composer, and arranger. When I was at the Berklee College of Music for my Bachelor's, I worked in the Music Production and Engineering Department. I have been teaching music production in various forms for about 5 years.
I was the President of my chapter of the National Conference of Synagogue Youth for over 5 years, as well as very active in my community at the head of various events- as such, I was required to do a lot of public speaking. This, in my case, included writing speeches, as well as coming up with them spur of the moment. I am also a performer and have had to learn to cope with the "before you go onstage jitters" for many years. I have come up with a series of methods which both relax and prepare someone for such a task.
Having graduated with honors from Berklee College of Music with a degree in Vocal Performance and Music Business, as well as a concentration in Private Studio Teaching, I am qualified to teach Sight Reading. I have taken and passed certifications in the Anne Peckham method of Sight Reading (her books were released through Berklee Press) as well as sight read in the real world as a freelance studio vocalist.
I'm a songwriter myself and have been teaching songwriting now for about 5 years. My compositions have been featured in Documentaries and TV shows.
Growing up, I had issues studying and could never figure out why I had such trouble with tests when I felt I knew the information backwards and forwards. I came up with methods, not just to memorize, but to learn the information. I practiced these methods, first on my younger brother, then on kids I would babysit, and finally on children I would tutor- all with a very high success rate!
I have been in the theater for 20 years. I've been coaching students in theater for about 10 of those years. I also went to an arts school from 6-12th grades where two of my majors were theater related (drama/theater and musical theater.)
I graduated with honors from Berklee College of Music and I am qualified to teach Voice. I have been doing so privately for many years, have been in this business professionally for over 20 years, and have a local space where my students learn.
