I have 10 years experience teaching part-time as an adjunct professor 3 years teaching full-time as a visiting professor and lecturer. In graduate school I tutored undergraduate students. I know what it takes for students to succeed later in higher education. When I teach or tutor I try to show the student what makes an equation or a physical work rather than give a cookbook formula, which will be easier to use when the student knows where it comes from. Mathematics is an art form and I encourage students to practice solving problems the way a musician must practice playing an instrument.
I have applied the mathematics, the differential equations, the calculus, and matrix algebra in my graduate school physics courses and I understand the fundamentals needed to prepare for more advanced math courses. I have taught algebra, finite math, calculus, linear algebra, and real analysis in two universities.
If you want to go on to higher education you should choose a tutor who has taught at college level and knows how to prepare you and how you can succeed after you finish secondary school. I like to give my students a mental workout and some actually enjoy a challenge whatever their level of mastery.
