Wilmington University- Elementary Ed (Master's)
Here is a little info about me. I have a bachelors degree in Psychology, and decided to do a dual certification in regular and special education for my masters degree, which is almost done. I have worked in a couple different school districts, as well as home schooling. I have worked with kindergartners, and high school students. I am currently doing reading and math interventions at the elementary school level and I love it!!
I have experience in tutoring and working with students. I love when I work with students and I see the light bulb go off in their head, when they finally grasp what they have been learning. Every child deserves a fair chance at a good education. When I work with students I like to involve the parents as to what I know and what I can provide, but I also ask for support from the family as well. I think it is important to learn about each student and what they are capable of doing and what they are struggling with. I try to find different approaches to work with kids. I love using Howard Gardner's theories of multiple intelligences, because everyone learns differently.
If you have any questions, please let me know!! Hello All!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am currently finishing my master's degree in Elementary Education. I started off the school year working as a one-on-one para with a kindergarten student with special needs, before being transferred to a level IV special ed para. I have also had the experience to substitute teach. I've worked with kids from K-12.
I have had experience since 2012 in working and teaching students with special needs. I am finishing my degree regular and special education with a certificate in Autism. When I work with students I try to find what motivates them and I work with that. I try to help the parents in working with their kids, when I am not able to work with them.
I swam my whole life. When I was younger I was a lifeguard, a swim teacher, and a swim coach. I enjoy the sport very much and I love teaching it.
