About Emily

Since middle school I have served as a bridge between two cultures. I served as the liaison between my American and Korean classmates, learning Korean from a young age. Since then, I have minored in Korean in undergrad, studied at Yonsei University, and traveled and worked throughout Korea, and with Korean chaebols doing business in the United States.

Upon completion of my Master’s degree in Accounting at the George Washington University, I took my background as a bridge between the two cultures and have worked for one of the big four accounting firms, a large public university, and at the Korean embassy working with Korean clientele.

With a desire to help students as I did in middle school, high school, and throughout college, I now work with a U.S. based university on growing their campus in Korea while supporting their students to study both in the United States and in Korea.

I am able to support Korean students learning English, wanting to learn more about American culture, or just looking for a way to practice their conversational skills and increase their confidence. I am also available for improving writing skills, especially to suit the American education system, and proofreading documents and assignments.

I also advise and guide Korean students looking to pursue careers in the Washington DC area, help with writing a resume, or to learn American business etiquette and customs.

I am generally available during the evening on weekdays. My base rate is $40/hour and I am available to travel a limited distance. Please contact me for further information and I look forward to working together to achieve your goals!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
