About Shukufeh

I have had the privilege to live in many countries in different continents and as a result to get to know many different cultures and races and to strengthen my belief in the unity of humanity. I am originally from Iran and a native Farsi speaker but have been living and working in South Africa, Botswana, Israel, Portugal, China and the U.S.

As a certified teacher, I have been working primarily with middle school students in the areas of Social Studies and ESL, but also have experience tutoring and training adults and children of all ages in ESL, Farsi, family life and marriage as well as in virtues-based education. What I love about tutoring is the individual connection with the student and the opportunity it provides to get to know each one's individual needs, strengths and weaknesses and therefore to be able to tailor the lessons for each student accordingly.

I received my schooling and higher education in Iran. I have special interest in Persian literature and poetry. These coupled with my ESL teaching certificate which has trained me in the formal methods of teaching language, makes me a perfect candidate to teach Farsi.

It would be a privilege for me to get to know students who are eager to learn the ancient and sweet language of Persia. Please contact me if you are interested in private tutoring lessons whether you are interested in learning conversational or academic Farsi.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Farsi

I was born and raised in Iran. I had my schooling and BS degree in Iran and have special interest in Persian literature and poetry. The above facts coupled with the teaching certificate in ESL from George Mason University, makes me a perfect candidate for teaching Farsi to children or adults.

Reading

I help students in reading comprehension, how to determine the main idea, to draw conclusions and to analyze the text. I will help students to learn about different kinds of literature that they will be exposed to in the future, such as different types of fiction and non-fiction texts.
