About Danielle

I am a bilingual Spanish and English speaker, currently pursuing my master's degree at Georgetown University.

I taught ESL in the U.S. and at a university in Ecuador.
After that, I worked as the Coordinator of the WorldTeach program in Costa Rica, which sent ESL teachers to Costa Rican schools throughout the country.

I am very familiar with pronunciation challenges in both languages and I know which types of grammatical errors are most common among Spanish and English speakers. Since I have lived in Argentina, Ecuador and Costa Rica, my accent in Spanish is neutral and is easy to understand. Although the majority of my experience has been with Spanish speakers, I am also available to teach ESL to speakers of any language, and I enjoy teaching very much. Whether you are looking for business or basic communication skills, I will make the learning process enjoyable!

TEFL/TESOL Certified

I look forward to hearing from you!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Study Skills

As someone with a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree, I have had to utilize effective study skills throughout my academic career in order to succeed. As a teacher, I also learned about different learning styles from my students. In some cases, students benefited most from auditory methods, for example. In other cases, they were visual or tactile learners. Lastly, I have worked with many students with special needs, who have shown me the huge impact that small adjustments to organization or memory strategies can make. I look forward to working with more students on study skills.
