You might be working hard, showing up to class every day, and trying your best. You have invested the time: you go to class, you ask questions, you do your homework, you study before tests, and you’re not seeing the results. You might even be at the point of giving up. You are here because you’re a fighter, you want to do well, and you want things to change.

Maybe you are a parent, watching your student battle anxiety while attempting to balance an impossible workload. You hate watching your child struggle; you want your child to have real support as they pursue their dreams. You’re committed to finding the right mentor for your child.

The good news is you have found me here!

I have over 15 years of experience tutoring math, science, and engineering classes. I delight in helping students understand math for the first time, confidently dissect physics equations, and conquer their difficult engineering classes. I use a two-pronged approach: mastering content and increasing confidence. I want my students to grow as problem solvers.

I believe that learning can be fun, as we work together to new neural connections. I tell my students, “Information can access your brain through over a thousand doors. It’s my goal to help you find the learning strategies that work for you.” I help my students leverage their brains’ first response — whether that is excitement, anxiety, joy, disgust, or sheer terror — to open natural doors to learning.

I love tutoring math because I relish in the challenge of making math come alive for everyone. Many students find my interdisciplinary approach refreshing. I regularly integrate the history of mathematics into sessions to help students understand how different ideas developed. My students experience significantly more mathematics success after being exposed to my "three principal grammars of math" approach. I help students craft individualized practice plans to improve their sk

Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

I love tutoring Algebra II, Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus because these courses encourage students develop their math analysis skills. I have extensive experience helping students understand the unique textures of polynomial functions, trigonometric relationships, and exponential equations. I focus my time on putting math in context while providing ample time for practice.
Calculus,

Calculus

I have a BS in Mechanical Engineering, which demanded that I learn the ins and outs of all things calculus. I love breaking down complex concepts for students while helping them feel empowered to tackle the next big question.
Chemistry,

Chemistry

I have worked with chemistry students at many different levels. I enjoy helping students develop a deeper understanding of the atomic world.
Physics,

Physics

I specialize in making physics come to life for my students. I emphasize real-world observations in my efforts to help students connect concepts to equations. I have taught physics at the high school level and keep on top of the latest physics education research.
Precalculus,

Precalculus

I love tutoring pre-calculus because I am able to translate math language into human language. As an engineer, I adopt a problem-solving approach and help my students find the learning style that works for them.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

Lindsay worked on Pre Calculus with our daughter and made great progress in addressing gaps in instruction and finding new ways to explain concepts to ensure retention. Great communicator.

Got right down to it

Lindsey honed right in on the issue my son was having with the chain rule and they made some serious progress very quickly. I look forward to future lessons. Thanks!

Great AP Physics C help!

Lindsey was great. She set up a last minute online session to help me prepare for a next day exam. She was knowledgeable, and really helped me break up the problems into manageable portions.

Excellent, skilled, student-centered tutor - Honors Pre-Calculus

Lindsey was excellent. She helped my daughter prepare for a do or die math test. She made sure my daughter had the concepts down and gave her excellent recommended websites for practice. She also helped my daughter develop a concrete understanding of concepts (my daughter's math teacher is very theoretical). Finally, Lindsey was also a great coach through the lesson, giving my daughter confidence and encouragement necessary for success in high-level math.

Very Patient and Understanding

The session was far above my expectations for helping me with my engineering class. She addressed what my problem was initially and guided me to help solve some of my problems for review for an exam I have later. I highly recommend this tutor for anyone that needs help with engineering.

Great help and much needed!

This lesson was for my daughter and my daughter stated it helped her out a lot with the concepts in calculus. She will need some more tutoring in physics but it was a great start!

Tutor responded:

I enjoyed working with your daughter a ton! We focused our time on helping her understand calculus concepts and develop stronger study skills to make sense of physics. Physics can be a difficult class for sure. Glad to help your daughter get off to a great start!
