About Glenn

I majored in Elementary Education in college and stepped right into the classroom when I graduated.

I taught reading, math, phonics, science, computer technology, and social studies for a combined 13 years. These years were spread out through grades Kindergarten to the 6th grade. Most of my experience was in teaching literacy and mathematics to below grade level students, providing remedial support.

While teaching grades K through 6th, I really enjoyed all 13 years of it. Nothing compares to getting young students acclimated to a school environment and setting up their foundation for learning.

I'd like to get back to my passion, and that's watching light bulbs go off as children learn and discover new and fascinating information.

I make math fun and simple. I can bring out the fun in reading and writing. I've taught all grades and all levels. Kids loved learning in my classroom. I break phonics down so that its easy to learn and easy to relate to reading with fluency.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
