About Jing

Hey! Please feel free to call me Ray. I'm a current student at Georgetown University double majoring in economics and psychology! I love tutoring and has been doing that for quite a while since high school now. I am very patient and can approach each person's learning style differently to ensure your lessons are personalized to you.

I have tutored many of my fellow high school students for the past three years, especially in the field of math, logic thinking, essay editing, and test preparations.

I love tutoring because I love helping others learn. I understand the importance of college admission and can definitely help you improve your scores or just further your interest in a subject! I personally love to read and learn so hopefully I can help you too!!

I am very flexible in regards to meeting in public with you or going to your home. Any coffee shop in DC or the local area is also perfectly fine. My hours are also pretty flexible. Please contact me or see my profile for more information. I'm available on most nights except Thursday and am also available in select daytime hours and on most weekends! Online lessons are also great ways to meet and contact me. It can save a lot of the traveling time and hassle.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ACT Math

I have taken the ACT courses from Kaplan before. I also scored a perfect score of 36 on my ACT test. I have earned A on all my high school math course and now am a competitive student in Georgetown

Algebra 2

I have taken past algebra for many years. But algebra still comes in handy when I do economic calculation or when I use calculus. I have earned an 800 on SAT math which includes a lot of algebra topics. I have mentored algebra 2 and acted as acting teacher for my high school's algebra 2 class for a week due to the teacher's emergency absent. I tutor in accordance with the students needs. Everyone sees math in a different way so it's best to tailor.

Calculus

I have take both AP BC Calculus as well as multivariable calculus. I use calculus and practice it daily for economics in college. I have earned a 5 on my BC calculus exam as well as A level grades for all current Econ courses I have taken.

Grammar

I have been studying grammatical structure pretty much since I ever began to learn English. I have a solid grasp on this matter. Not only did I score 100% in the qualification test, I also scored a 750 on SAT writing. I have also been a TA for my high school AP English teacher's class and have graded many papers for grammatical problems. I have also been editors of newspapers and have edited many articles.

Proofreading

I have been an editor of our school newspapers for two years now and have had to proofread and edit many articles. I also excellent grammar skills.

SAT Math

I have tutored SAT math in high school as part of the tutoring club head. I have also myself scored 800 twice on the SAT. I am very good at all the subject areas on the sat, including trig, algebra or geometry! I have also taken many SAT Classes in the past

SAT Writing

Like my other subjects may suggest, I am really good at grammar and writing. I have worked for a newspaper for the past two years. I also scored a 750 on SAT writing. I have received many professional courses on SAT writing too.

TOEFL

I have taken TOEFL several times when I had to apply to high school and colleges here in the States. I have received a 111 on the test and have taken many training classes
