My name is Harsha and I have spent a considerable amount of time academia, most notably at Johns Hopkins University, on a range of mostly STEM subject areas - see some test scores below. In high school, I have also taken several AP courses often tutoring my peers in biology, genetics, chemistry, pre-algebra, and statistics.

Further advancing those same subjects in college, I was a teaching assistant in two departments both in statistics and bioengineering, helping freshman and sophomore students through challenging introductory courses. My abilities to help and guide you as a tutor are based on a combination of high school level mentoring experience and college level teaching/tutoring experience with my academic excellence in the STEM subject areas.

I have a patient, but structured approach towards tutoring that draws on my strong understanding that facilitates the learner to work through problems with guidance and direction instead of being simply pointed to answers. Often, lecture classes have little setup for theorems and broad concepts, without engaging students and giving them enough time to sufficiently wrestle with ideas to fully develop an understanding. I enjoy the opportunities to bring a level of confidence to those seeking to improve their skills and performance in subject areas where they face difficulties.

Math SAT II - 800, AP Calculus BC - 5; Biology SAT II - 800, Chemistry SAT II - 800, AP Chemistry - 5, AP Biology - 5.

Great tutor in stats

He's a great tutor, was patient in teaching me formulas for stats. He also helped me understand certain definitions of stats as well. Very patient and accommodating. Highly recommend.

Knowledgeable. Able to explain. Patient

My daughter had one session with Harsha. So far he seems to be able to speak with her in simple language so she can understand and use real life examples.
