About Justin

I am originally from Columbia, South Carolina and I graduated from the University of South Carolina (2009 B.S., 2011 Masters) before moving to the DC area for job with the Department of Veterans Affairs. As a student I have always loved learning and challenging myself academically and enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for learning with students.

While in college I had the great opportunity to tutor middle school students and loved engaging with them and tutoring them in all subjects. As someone who succeeded academically I feel it is my duty to help the next generation of students. Nothing is more satisfying to me than to see students achieve their dreams and become productive citizens and the best way to do that is through education.

I have four years of tutoring experience. I have taught middle school and high school students in all subjects, with math, history, writing, and reading being my strongest subjects. As a tutor I excel in getting student to critically think about how to solve problems and answer questions.

I have a love for math and four years of tutoring experience. I received an "A" in calculus in college.

I am an avid reader and believes the more one reads the better they become at it and the more he or she will love it.

I have four years tutoring experience of middle school students.

I have a love for history and received a "5" (highest score) on my AP American History exam in high school.

I am a very diligent tutor who will work extremely hard to help students succeed academically. With my help, not only will there be an improvement of grades, but my students will gain a new appreciation for learning.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
