I am a DC native and want to do what I can to help the youth of this city reach the level of success and high performance that they deserve. I have had the chance to tutor kids occasionally through my undergraduate career, and was always nostalgic of my tutoring days to young elementary children. It has been so rewarding to see students leap over hurdles they thought that they could never overcome, and I want to do the best that I can to show them how to navigate any rocky subjects during these pivotal years.
I am vested in making sure students set up a few personal goals, in addition to enhancing their understanding of their trouble area. This way not only are we making strides to the long term goal, but also involving the student in his or her learning process to make sure that they can hold themselves accountable for their learning as well.
In addition to my degree in Rhetorical Studies/English, I was able to excel and perform highly in both the SAT Reading/Writing section. I have the foundation and technique to adjust my teaching style to the needs of the student.
During my years tutoring in undergraduate, I was able to work with young students from the communities surrounding campus to complete their assignments and study for their tests.
Also during my years tutoring in undergraduate, I worked extensive with young students (grades 1-6) in learning the essentials to their elementary school assignments, and specifically mathematics lessons.
Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions or want to learn more about me or my approach to teaching your student. I look forward to work with you! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
