My love for teaching began the first day I set foot onto a college campus. I knew that my calling in life was to become a college professor, tutor as well as a learner from you. Over the past 15 years, I have tutored many students across all walks of life, and each time I feel as if I have been able to make a difference in their lives. It is always great to see someone succeed, and I truly think this is one of the best jobs in the world.
My background is in Clinical Psychology and Public Health, and I am a scientist at NIH. These educational experiences have provided with several areas of expertise. These areas include, but are not limited, to research methods, statistics, psychology, life sciences, biology, English, and Math (mainly pre-algebra and algebra). My primary style of tutoring is to make the process challenging and involves thinking critically about the topic at hand without overwhelming you. I serve as a teacher to get you through the process. I will assign work outside of our lessons and will assist you in developing the best study skills necessary.
While I am flexible with time, it is important to know that I have a 24 hour cancellation policy. I am flexible in where the tutoring session can take place and willing to work with you.
I look forward to hearing from you! Please contact me anytime if you have questions.

Really enjoyed working on statistics with Brett. He helped with working through problems and strategies for the AP Exam in Statistics.
Brett was very patient with me. We did basic statistics and went through a lot. I would definitely work with him again.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
