Hello, I'm Kimberly and welcome to my profile!
I am a graduate of The University of Maryland Eastern Shore, where I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in English. I just finished studying at The University of Maryland University College earning my Master of Arts degree in Secondary Education. I currently teach 9th and 10th grade English at a local high school.
After accepting a co-teaching position straight out of college, I found my passion for teaching and tutoring students in the arts of grammar, language arts, and writing. I have spent the last three years practicing and perfecting various strategies and methods for helping students improve their skills in the language arts in ways that are both, effective and entertaining. I have experience tutoring students ranging in age from 8 to 17. A big part of my tutoring strategy is getting to know my students and their personal interests and hobbies; I try my best to incorporate these into lessons to make learning just a little bit more fun and interesting for them! My preference is to tutor at a public library, however, this can be negotiable.
I have a good sense of humor and my interests include watching and playing basketball, listening to a variety of music, and practicing my photography skills while exploring downtown Washington, D.C. Hello, I'm Kimberly and welcome to my profile!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
