About Francine

Hello,

I am educator with over 25 years of teaching experience. I received my undergraduate degree in Education with a Major in English and a minor in French. I received my Master's in Reading Specialization. I have taught elementary school through college. My tenure as an educator has been successful because of my ability to differentiate instruction, create exciting learning experiences, and encourage others to be successful.

When I was in the 4th grade, I knew that I wanted to teach. I had an experience with a teacher that was quite bothersome. It was at that moment that I decided that one day I would grow up and show students how a 'real' teacher should behave. I pondered that idea for many years, positioning myself to achieve that goal. Once I finished my education, I followed a career path that would be a trajectory to help develop academic success.

My personal approach to tutoring involves assessing which learning style best suits my client and tailoring the academic support based on that learning style. I like to make tutoring fun and interactive. I tutor through modeling and require my clients to try their best. There are times when one can soar like an eagle and things just seem to happen. There other times when one finds him/herself faced with a struggle or challenge because the dots just don't seem to connect. No matter how hard one may try, additional support may be needed to help accomplish a specific goal or take advantage of an opportunity.

Passion to help others coupled with perseverance are my drive. I am committed to serve you. There are three basic tools that I use to help ensure productive outcomes: perseverance, determination, and focus. I use these three in tandem to create momentum to bring change.

I am looking forward to working with you in the near future!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
