Ohio State University (Chemistry)
My name is Erin and I am a recent graduate from The Ohio State University. I graduated with my bachelor's degree in chemistry and am currently waiting to hear back from medical schools for Fall 2015 admissions. I love, and have always loved, school and learning. I fully believe that everyone is capable of having a love for learning if they are taught in a manner that works for his/her learning style. I have experienced absolutely wonderful science teachers and professors during my time as a student, and have also experienced not so great teachers and professors.
I believe the key to teaching/tutoring successfully is flexibility with teaching style and endless patience with each student. Every student has his/her own way of learning and have different rates of learning and understanding different topics.
I tutored chemistry, biology, algebra and Calculus I during my college career. I enjoy tutoring because I invest time in my students and genuinely care about his/her performance in school and his/her understanding of the subject. Being able to grasp key concepts makes the world of a difference as a student and allows you to enjoy what you are learning.
I look forward to helping you enjoy what you are studying and giving you confidence in your ability to succeed! Hi,

Erin is great at explaining everything, I definitely feel prepared for my next quiz! I was able to complete the rest of a worksheet by myself that I had no idea how to do before.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I received my Bachelor's in Chemistry from the Ohio State University in 2013, with a 3.87 GPA. I am currently a Master's student at Georgetown University in the Physiology and Biophysics Program. I had a wonderful HS Chemistry teacher and believe that it is because of her that I have excelled in Chemistry throughout my academic career. As a tutor, I strive not only to teach students how to understand chemistry, but also strive to develop their critical thinking skills. I hope that after working with me, students will be feel better equipped and more confident tackling tough problems on their own!
