I have 13+ years experience teaching elementary, middle and high school, special education and English Language Learners. I hold triple certification/licensure and have several years experience training teachers. I have proven and rapid success with all of my clients. Many of my students have been referred to me for math. They are convinced they are not good at it, and parents usually report they are unable to help. I work with students, however, on all subjects (reading, writing, spelling, study skills, etc) for all grades. At the heart of what I do is building confidence, developing skill set and applying strategies to perform better in class and on assignments/tests.
Most of my clients come to me after abandoning a college tutor (who may be less expensive, but not effective) or after trying a more formal service like Sylvan or Huntington (more expensive, but disconnected from school). With the nationwide shift to Common Core State Standards, the rigor of what children are learning has increased tremendously. I can help your child develop the conceptual understanding and skill proficiency to achieve. What distinguishes me from other tutors is my ability to understand and respond to individual learning needs. I have never had a disappointed client. In fact, I achieve such great results that my clients no longer need the service (which is a huge financial win for parents!).

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
