About Viachaslau

I am a native Russian speaker with university degree in Russian Language and Literature. I teach Russian and Belarusian at the International Center for Language Studies and Berlitz in Washington, D.C. I assist students with preparations for IRL scale based tests (incl. OPI). I also serve as the Belarusian Language Reviewer at the National Foreign Language Center, University of Maryland. Earlier, I taught Russian and Psychology to high school and university students in my home country. I hold Master's degrees from the European Humanities University and American University, Washington, D.C. I have an extensive experience of teaching and tutoring Russian to foreigners of different ages and levels. I use Russian and Belarusian on a daily basis providing translation and interpretation services to human rights organizations in the U.S., writing blogs and articles, and providing development support to civil society groups in my home country. I assisted Human Rights First delegations as interpreter on the missions to Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Ukraine. I've only had a few weeks of Russian lessons with Slava (Viachaslau) and I've already seen a huge improvement in my language skills, especially in speaking and reading.
