Georgetown University (International Relations)
Hi! My name is Caroline and I am very passionate about English and Math. Whether you are struggling to keep up in the classroom or want to get ahead, I am here to help! I graduated summa cum laude from my high school academy in the top 5% of my class. I will begin my undergraduate studies at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. in the Fall of 2014.
Though I am young, I have been tutoring for years. During high school, I was involved in a peer tutoring program helping students fully understand topics such as Algebra 1 and World Literature by breaking the subjects down step by step. In addition, during the 2012/2013 school year, I was employed as a private English and Math tutor for a gifted elementary student, successfully helping her study to skip a grade because she felt she was not being challenged enough in the classroom. I believe that being young enables me to connect effectively with my students while still allowing me to build a relationship with the parents - two key factors in creating a successful learning environment.
I am available to tutor math from the elementary level to Algebra 1 and English from elementary age to high school age. I truly believe each student has great potential that is just waiting to be unlocked. As a tutor, I acknowledge that it is my duty to encourage that potential and help each student build self-confidence by gaining a greater understanding of a subject. I also maintain a positive outlook with students even through struggles. I will push students to continue striving to understand material, always encouraging questions.
Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you! Hi! My name is Caroline and I am very passionate about English and Math. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
