Process:

First, we should briefly discuss your need by email or phone. After a few questions, I will know your specific goals and how we can best fulfill them and if in-person or online will work best.

Then, we arrange the first meeting during which we quickly review our goals, review the subject matter with the student to get a sense of where they are and the learning style, then we jump right in!

After the first and second meetings, I send a progress email detailing the sessions and the strategies going forward. This way, we know where we are and where we are headed.

Thereafter, I will have an online log for progress that we can all access and refer to as needed.

--
Please feel free to contact me to discuss your needs; I welcome the conversation so we can determine how my services can be of benefit and lead to success!

Looking forward to helping you!
Brian

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

Certified tutor in Algebra 1 and Chemistry. Experience with teaching Chemistry.

Biology

Molecular biology training from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, undergraduate work in biology at the University of Chicago.

MCAT

I took the MCAT in 2002 and scored a 39 (13/13/11 in verbal) with a "T" in writing. I have been working in engineering and related fields since 2002. I was engaged in long-term tutoring Physics and Chemistry for advanced H.S. student recently (2012).

Reading

Reading is one of the fundamental and important skills.
I approach teaching reading from the student's point of view and strengths, guiding them on how to use to use their natural approach to gain confidence with reading and thereby comfort and enjoyment, allowing them to embrace what is the foundation to full participation in school, work and civic life.
