About SEYDOU

I am a certified high school math teacher. My goal is to share my passion and love of math around to students through remediation, coaching, homework help or anything else that may fit your child's mathematical needs. Over the past ten years I have worked with students in varying capacities from volunteering, tutoring, and teaching summer courses, to full time teaching. My experience working with students has been in various private, public as well as charter schools.

I look to create a positive environment where I can help motivate students to engage in both analytical and critical thinking in mathematics. I believe that working with students 1-on-1 and in small group settings can allow students to get their questions asked and not feel intimidated or worry about the pace of the class.

With the shift to the common core, many students are struggling to understand the necessary components to be successful in math. As a math teacher for the past ten years, I have seen the shift in curriculum and know that I can help your student be successful and understand a set of tools for him/her to use when approaching a concept/problem.

I also have 6 years' experience tutoring college undergraduate and graduate students on quantitative research projects, including applied statistics and research methods, and using SPSS, STATA, and Excel.

I understand that you are looking for a qualified and strongly motivated teacher. After several years of being a teacher, I excelled at providing individualized instruction. My best area are statistics, algebra 1 and 2, calculus, probability and geometry. I have the right combination of education and experience to make an excellent instructor.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Chemistry

I took many Chemistry courses courses as an undergraduate and graduated students. Among chemistry classes I took there is General chemistry 1 and 2 , Organic Chemistry 1 and 2. I am very confident with tutoring chemistry.
