To formally introduce myself, my name is Jenny and I am writing this summary of myself to help you familiarize yourself with me. I am confident that after reading about me you will be interested in my services. I am currently enrolled in and at the tail end of my graduate degree program for Special Education with a focus on Applied Behavior Analysis. If provided the opportunity to tutor, you will be allowing me to exercise the skills and techniques that I have acquired through the program. Upon the completion of the program and my supervision hours I will be able to apply to take the board exam to obtain and become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
I currently hold a bachelor's degree in Political Science with a minor in Sociology. Currently I am completing my hours for supervision as an ABA Practicum Student. I have the responsibility of completing assessments, designing systems to track socially significant behaviors, while analyzing them for the purpose of recommendations for behavioral interventions. During my years in the educational field as well as the field of human services I have acquired the skills to counsel as well as the experience needed to work with people from very diverse backgrounds. In my graduate program I have learned methods to increase/decrease socially significant behavior. In addition to reducing or increasing these behaviors I have learned skills in maintaining behaviors that are socially significant through evidence based methods. During my time as an Associate Instructor and in my most current position as a one to one ABA Instructor to a child with ASD, I was able to have daily interactions with my student in the capacity of teaching academics as well as teaching appropriate behaviors to exhibit and vast amounts of redirection. Modifying and encouraging more socially acceptable behaviors in a learning environment is where I am gaining mastery. It is my purpose to guide those with behavioral, mental and emotional difficulties to a path of progression and a desirable quality of life. In my current and past positions, I gave daily updates of my students' progress to my supervisor and any concerns on where I thought they needed more assistance or ideas for a new intervention that I thought may be beneficial. Whether it was behavioral or academic, the goal was for the students to be successful.
Thank you for your time and I hope that we can work together in the future.
*English is my first language.
*Reading is a favorite past time of mine, in addition to the fact that I have acquired skills through ABA that would greatly increase a learner's fluency.
*Having done so well in English and language arts in my schooling, I have acquired skills with teaching vocabulary through my experiences working in school settings as well as through ABA techniques.
I have tutored elementary math in my past positions as well as algebra and geometry. But my confidence is in elementary mathematics.
I am currently in a graduate degree program for Special Education with a focus on Applied Behavior Analysis. I will also graduate with my certificate in Autism Special Disorder. Upon completion of my studies and hours, I will sit for and pass the exam to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. The ASD population benefits greatly from the evidenced based methods used in and derived from the field of Applied Behavior Analysis.
Please do not be discouraged to call me because my credentials fit a certain mold. ABA can be used in a wide variety of areas. I am confident that I will be capable of helping most anyone. As long as you are not trying to learn a language other than english, I am sure that I can be of service to you. I look forward to hearing from you in the near future. I appreciate your time and consideration. Have a blessed day. To formally introduce myself, my name is Jenny and I am writing this summary of myself to help you familiarize yourself with me. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am currently enrolled in a graduate degree program for Special Education with my focus on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). I am in the tail end of my program where I am completing my hours for supervision which will be done in June 2016. Upon completion of my program I will have obtained my MSed with my certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorder, as well as be qualified to sit for the exam to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. ABA is based on evidence based practices that are widely used with the ASD population to target socially significant behaviors for increase or decrease. With my background I will be able to assist with the behaviors that may be interfering with the students learning through the application of these practices.
