About Glen

Bio

I have had many years experience tutoring math at various grade levels. I can help you learn math! I will be more than happy to help you achieve your math goals! These may include topics from grades k thru 12, such as number systems, arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. I also help with standardized tests such as the SAT and ACT. I am available on weekdays from 2:30pm thru 10:00pm & weekends from noon to 6pm. My rates are reasonable and I will travel.

I am available on weekdays from 2:30pm thru 10:00pm & weekends from noon to 6pm. My rates are reasonable and I will travel.

I believe that thru effort and perseverance results can be obtained. Resources such as texts, study guides, internet and various worksheets will be used during sessions. Use of handheld calculators may be required. Work will be completed by student and reviewed by me. I will offer revisions and corrections. Assignments will be aligned with applicable standards (e.g. regional, state).

I graduated from Central State University with a degree in math. While a student I tutored various math students. I also helped students in other majors with the math components of their classes. I attended Empire State College as a student in the M.A.T. program. Immediately following my study there I began working in Stamford, CT. as a substitute teacher. I then worked in New Haven CT. as a part time math teacher. Currently I am enrolled in the post-baccalaureate program at Western Governors University in effort to become a certified teacher.

My residence is in Windsor CT. It is convenient to mass transportation and major highways.

Prealgebra

Problem Solving, Logic, Estimation Number Systems and Operations in Those Number Systems Probability and Statistics, Geometry, Measurement
Precalculus,

Precalculus

This course extends and integrates concepts from algebra and geometry. It includes a study of polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic and trigonometric functions, inverse and second degree relations and their graphs. Other topics include complex numbers, polar coordinates, vectors, sequences and series.
SAT Math

SAT Math

This SAT math review course will familiarize students with the format of the SAT, and teach testing techniques and strategies. A diagnostic test will first be given. Then each class will consist of a timed practice test, followed by a discussion of any questions the students have about problems they could not successfully work. There will be a comprehensive review of mathematics, algebra and geometry concepts each class, with appropriate homework assigned. Homework questions will also be addressed. Prerequisites: Algebra 1; Geometry and Algebra 2 are desired, but not required.
