If you need help in American History, American politics, government or Urban Studies, I'm the one you want for your tutoring needs. For the past 13 years I have worked in high level municipal positions. I possess a Bachelors Degree in American History and I have 2 Masters of Science Degrees. My first MS was in Political Science with a strong focus on American politics and American political history, that degree was finished in 2004 with a 3.70 GPA. My second MS degree is in Urban Studies, where I was ranked 1st in my class of 77 grad students and I finished with a 3.94 GPA. I have strong research skills, computer skills and extensive knowledge on the American system of government and its history.
My methods are relatively simple, with less memorization and more of an understanding of the concepts. I am also a big believer in reading on the subject will get the student to excel. I utilize visuals, such as PowerPoints, especially in the area of urban studies.
If any students need athletic help, I did play High School and college baseball, where I was all conference my Junior year. Also I coached baseball at the High School, college, and prep school level. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
