About Nicholas

Bio

I am a high school math teacher and head track coach. I received my bachelors in Applied Mathematics. I have extensive experience in Advanced Statistics and Calculus. I currently hold a 029 professional mathematics certification and am certified to teach middle and high school mathematics. I scored in the 90th percentile (top 10%) of all math teachers in the state of connecticut on the certification exam.

Currently, I teach at the high school level and have been teaching here for the past 6 years. This year, I am teaching AP Calculus, AP Statistics, Algebra 1 Honors, and 8th grade Algebra. In previous years, I have had experience teaching Algebra 2, PreCalculus, Intro to Statistics, Trigonometry, and Geometry.

I have been apart of many different classroom environments such as one on one, group learning, and whole class teaching. I have effectively applied differentiation techniques to meet the needs of each student.

Excellent Tutor

My daughter really needed help studying for her final test. Nicolas really helped her understand the topics she was working with. In addition, provided her with extra work problems to help her master it. Not only that, but because he knew that she wouldn't be able to have another session (due to time constraints), before her test he send her the explanations, problems and solutions for the topic ( inscribed polygons) for her to practice on her own. We are so happy we found him because he is truly a teacher that has the knowledge, he is patient and makes sure the student understand the math.
