About Carmelo

I am a current graduate of King's College with a degree in mathematics. I am also a certified teacher currently teaching Algebra I and Geometry. My love for teaching and helping students succeed is why I got into teaching and is why I would like to continue that passion with tutoring. The first session will be used to evaluate where the student is with his or her work and then sessions after that will be used to strengthen the student's weaknesses in order to have the best chance of succeeding. This can involve helping the student with his or hers homework or doing past assignments that may have been confusing. If it is the summer time and a student is looking to brush up on past content, I would be more then happy to create worksheets and problems that we can work through together.

I also played football for 10 years, including one year in college. I am currently an assistant coach at the school where I teach. The experience playing and coaching has given me a vast knowledge of the game and how to prepare for the game. This can be anything from drills specific to a certain position or a weight lifting program to help the athlete gain an edge.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

I have a degree in mathematics from King's College in Pennsylvania. My student teaching that I did in order to become a certified teacher was teaching 8th grade algebra. I am currently a high school teacher for 9th graders learning algebra I.

Football

I played football for 11 years including one year in college. I am currently an assistant football coach at the high school I teach at. Throughout the years I have helped out at camps for children of all ages. My background and love for the game makes me a great candidate to tutor this subject.

Logic

My degree in higher mathematic enables me to be able to tutor logic. Because this is such an abstract class, patience and understanding is greatly required to do so. I took a logic class my freshman year in college and continued working with these abstract math qualities through my next three years.
