Greetings! My name is Noelle and I am a patient, thorough tutor who loves to help students learn.
I am passionate about academics and have a lifelong love of learning. I hold a Master's Degree in American Studies and a Bachelor's Degree in English. As a student I became a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the English honor society Sigma Tau Delta. After graduating I had the pleasure of volunteering as a mentor to college students. I have also taught personal development classes to local adults through a continuing education initiative.
I have over four years of experience as a correspondent for a local newspaper and have freelanced for several other local newspapers. In addition, I have experience writing resumes, speeches, band press kits, and creative works. Throughout my adult life I have assisted friends with composing, proofreading, and editing documents and would love to help others with their writing endeavors.
As a tutor I specialize in SAT/ACT test preparation. As part of each lesson, I provide students with study notes and homework assignments to further their understanding of the material.
In addition, I provide the opportunity for high school, college, and graduate students to receive help with composing, proofreading, and editing essays and research papers. Furthermore, I am available to assist adults with writing projects such as resumes, cover letters, speeches, and creative works.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you excel in writing and in English! Greetings! My name is Noelle and I am a patient, thorough tutor who loves to help students learn.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
As a mentor for college students I have had the opportunity to help teenagers learn new things, and I would love to apply that skill to tutoring. As a journalist and creative writer I have always been interested in proofreading, grammar, wording, and sentence structure. With a background in several types of writing - as well as a degree in English - I know that I could help students to understand the concepts covered on the ACT English test.
After earning my American Studies MA, I took several Sociology courses to further my knowledge of the field. During that time, I studied Criminal Justice Systems. Through my Criminal Justice education, I became familiar with topics such as: types of crime, police protocol, criminal trials, probation, sentencing, parole, and recidivism.
For years I have helped friends with writing projects and I enjoy helping people understand how to improve their writing. With a background in journalism and a Bachelor's in English I am confident I can successfully teach SAT Writing. Furthermore, I have experience working with teenagers through my position as a graduate assistant at a university language-learning laboratory and as a volunteer mentor at a local university.
As an undergraduate and later as a graduate student I took courses in Sociology. After completing my MA in American Studies, I spent two years taking Continuing Studies courses which gave me the equivalent coursework of being a Sociology undergraduate major. I am hoping to get a PhD in Sociology in the future.
My passion for writing began at an early age and has been a strong part of my life ever since. My journalism work has been published in several local newspapers and I was a correspondent for one newspaper for almost five years. Furthermore, I have composed speeches that have been delivered at charity events, and I have created poems that have won college writing competitions. I also have a degree in English. I am confident that using my experiences I can assist people with formulating ideas, wording things in different ways, and creating flowing, interesting, informative, grammatically-correct written works.
