I can explain complicated things in simple, understandable ways.
As a Software Developer for many decades, it is part of the profession to explain technical detailed information in ways that non-technical people can understand, and intuitively feel what you are talking about. Many people have told me I have this gift of "making things understandable". I have always loved the beauty of Math - I mean, why should such exquisite order be here in the universe?
Although I am new to tutoring in 2015, the desire and ability to teach has always been in my life. I give talks in various places about the power of positive thinking., and I would like the student to visualize getting one grade higher on their next test. In the 1990's, I tutored my daughter and son who were in high school and college. In the early 1970's, I taught Geometry at Kolbe Catholic High School. And when I was a student, I always looked forward to Math class, and would help fellow students.
Even though I have been away from the subject matter for a while, a) I do remember very much of it b) as a developer, I am accustomed to revisiting different languages/techniques/details that I used in the past as they are needed in the present c) I do not bill for the time to re-familiarize myself with a subject.
I specialize in Math and Programming. The goal is that the student conceptually know and understand the subject, rather than memorize tons of details. The understanding will naturally suggest and direct how to deal with the details.
I will not bill a lesson if the parent or student is not completely satisfied. I do not bill the time I need to re-familiarize myself with a subject
I have a 3 hour cancellation policy.
I will travel to the location of your choice.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you be greatly successful in your studies. I can explain complicated things in simple, understandable ways.

Bruce has been an amazing tutor that has helped my son to not only comprehend the concepts of Geometry but also thrive. My son went from failing to obtaining B's and A's on his work. Finals are coming and he is ready! Looking forward to having Bruce as a tutor in the fall for Algebra too!
Outstanding tutor, highly recommended!
Thank you Mary Ellen. I am happy we connected. Alex is a joy to tutor. He works persistently and diligently. He has very unique gifts. I am happy to have helped.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
