I am a lifelong learner and lover of reading, writing, and literature. I have been teaching and tutoring since high school, volunteering at my high school as a peer tutor, volunteering at after school programs in college, and working in the writing center at Brandeis University. I am entering my 4th year of teaching high school English at a small independent school in Connecticut.
I specialize in teaching reading and writing to grades 7-12 and to college students. I can also help students study for the reading and writing sections of the SAT and the GRE. Whether we are working on refining a college essay or practicing close-reading strategies, I try to meet every student where they are at. I seek to challenge my students and to help them build confidence.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve success in your studies!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
