I am a special education teacher certified in grades pre-k to grade 12. I taught for thirteen years. I have a bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and have a master's degree in Language Learning Disabilities. I am experienced in specialized reading programs, particularly Wilson Books 1-6 and LiPS. I also have a Speech/Language background which enhances my skills in the reading programs. The first hour is $60. Each additional hour needed for tutoring during the same week would be $50.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
