University of Rhode Island (Biological Sciences)
Hello! I am a Biological Sciences major and have graduated from the University of Rhode Island. I have experience teaching, as I have helped to teach both the Biology 101 and 102 basic labs as an in-lab support to the Teaching Assistant. I would answer in-lab inquiries about the lesson material and use of the specimens and equipment. I have also taught as a full Teaching Assistant for the course Plant Pathology. In this I created and managed all aspects of quizzes, held exam reviews, answered emails, and helped monitor exams.
I remember several students telling me that my exam reviews really helped, and the professor saying that the exam averages were higher than he had ever seen before. Knowing that I can put my knowledge to use and help others succeed is something that I love to do.
I have a passion for Biology, in particular in the plant and animal fields. I am always telling my family members fun facts and exploring the woods behind my house. I would love to share that passion and help others to discover how fascinating the world is around them.
I tried to be as available as possible for my students during the semester, and in keeping with that I'll do my very best to be available and work around schedules. I'm never too proud to admit that I'm not sure on something, as I would rather get the right information for an exam than be prideful and it be wrong. I have a passion for biology, and would love to be able to show you how incredible that world can be. Hello! I am a Biological Sciences major and have graduated from the University of Rhode Island. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
