This past academic year, I worked for Suffolk University in Boston as one of three Teacher's Assistants in the English department. I worked with 300 and 400 level classes and well as with an Honors Seminar by doing such things as: teaching the class days the professors were not available to, maintaining focused and vigorous discussion in the classroom by coming to class prepared with key quotations and questions, meeting with students in office hours to review literature that may have seemed convoluted to them as well as read over and edit with them their papers. I also have worked in the University's Writing Center as a tutor with over 300 hours of tutoring experience. In these sessions I worked with Graduate students, Undergraduate students, ESL students, students with various learning disorders (such as ADD and Dyslexia) and varied others. The topics of these sessions ranged from simple grammatical review of their writing to reviewing material and notes from the class for clarity of the reading. I also worked with them on thesis development for papers, paper clarity, and identifying what may be relevant to their argument from what is not. Other students met with me on a weekly basis to review their thesis papers as they wrote them to not only check for grammatical clarity but also to ensure that their writing was clear to both professionals in their field as well as outsider readers. I graduated from Suffolk in 2011 with my B.A., double majoring in English and Philosophy, with a 3.7 overall GPA, a 3.9 GPA in my English degree, and a 3.7 GPA in my Philosophy degree.
