As a college adviser, I'm am here to help you and your student navigate the daunting and complicated admissions process and find the college that will fit them best! Between my own experience as a recruited athlete to Princeton, my career in competitive rowing, and time as a private tutor, I have an intimate understanding of the college admissions process and how to coach a student to realize their full potential.
I love helping students understand and navigate the college process because it turns a typically stressful endeavor into something to be excited about. College is a place for students to explore their interests and hone their skills. Students should feel like they are shopping around for an amazing experience, not jumping through hoops to be someone they are not.
I have been a private college adviser in the Greenwich Fairfield area for over 6 years and have 10 years experience tutoring standardized tests and high school subjects across the country. I have worked with students who have gained admittance to Princeton, Harvard, Cornell, Yale, Brown, and many other distinguished institutions. I have helped clients in the 11th hour with essays and applications, and I have worked with students over multiple years to research, prepare, and apply.
So if you or your student is a rising freshman with a few questions, or a rising senior starting to feel the pressure, I can help make sure you feel confident you are taking the right steps to a successful college experience. This is my first time trying out WyzAnt, and am excited to expand my clientele. I am discounting my price for students who sign up in the next month so don't wait! An easier college application process is just a click away. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been tutoring all aspects of the SAT for almost a decade. Many of my students need assistance improving their Reading scores and have always seen improvement under my tutelage. For the Reading section, I have my students initially ignore the multiple choice answers, formulate their own answer, and then match their answer to the multiple choice. I find this strategy to be much more successful in avoiding trap answers and cuts down on decision making time.
