In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I use numbers and letters to have children middle school ages learn how to draw. I have 20 different animals so they can practice their future ability in drawing as well as letters of the alphabet. I show them step by step how they will progress by using these numbers and letters. I also teach them that they will acquire their own style of drawing. I have taught in the classroom at different middle schools in Stamford Board of Education how to draw as well as tutored young children in my neighborhood.
I have worked with children in middle school in learning how to paint with colored pencils, acrylics with canvases or stenciled paper. I have also used bird houses for them to paint and keepsake boxes for boys and girls to create and designs with paint using paint brushes or sponges. I have worked with students of various ages from 4 yrs old to middle school in Stamford Board of Education and in tutoring regards to painting.
