I am a second-year PhD student in Clinical Psychology at the University of Connecticut, focusing on trauma and health psychology research. I have worked in research labs for the past 7 years, and have developed an extensive background in conducting research, analyzing data, and communicating findings both orally and in writing. Moreover, I have presented my research at numerous local, national, and international conferences, which has enabled me to become an effective writer, communicator, and teacher to others. I received my undergraduate degree in Human Development from Cornell University in 2018. Before beginning my PhD program, I was the Research Coordinator at the Program for Anxiety and Traumatic Stress Studies (PATSS) at Weill Cornell Medicine. In that capacity, I trained and supervised many medical students, interns, and research project volunteers on a regular basis so that they could understand proper research methodology and execution of studies.
As a result of all of these experiences, I have a passion for research and analysis, am highly skilled in psychology, research methods, statistics (including SPSS) and have strong communication skills. Indeed, I am skilled in all aspects of the research process, including conceptualization, study execution, statistical analysis and communication of findings. I believe that I am well qualified to assist in any of those domains by helping students develop research, analytical, and writing skills, aiding them in studying, and critiquing papers (including scientific lab reports) that they draft. Additionally, given my educational background and my daily involvement with mathematical and statistical issues and the fact that I scored highly on ACT Math/Science (33 and 34, respectively), I can effectively tutor elementary, middle, and high school students in math and science.
