About Charlotte

I truly believe that learning is one of the most important things in life. Not only is it important, but it can be fun! While I am still a sophomore in undergraduate school, I have always loved to teach people of all ages new things. I value making learning interesting and desirable. My major is professional writing and I plan to get my teaching certification, as well as a PHD in writing or English. I have not had a true teaching or tutoring job, but being the oldest sibling, I have been able to help my younger siblings with homework and problem solving. I have also assisted and observed my Mother's reading tutor job at a local elementary school. I am extremely patient, caring, compassionate, ambitious and passionate about learning, teaching and knowledge. I will work hard and make sure you don't only understand something, but appreciate it for what it is.

I have dedicated much of my time to writing and editing. I made A's every year of English in high school. I made dean's list both semesters of my first year of college. I was offered a tutoring position in the writing center by my professor, but the rules are you must be a Junior or Senior to hold a tutoring job at the university, and I am only a sophomore enrolled as a Professional Writing Major. I made Dean's list in both semesters of freshman year. I have assisted and observed my mother at her position of reading tutor at a local elementary school. I am the Secretary of the Black and White Journal Club at Western Connecticut State University, giving me ample experience in proofreading and editing.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
