My name is Anne and I am an innovative, imaginative retired high school Learning Disabilities Specialist ready to help students break down barriers, enhance strengths, reinforce weaknesses and build confidence. I am up for any challenge and truly love working with students. I am available to work with any other age group besides high school and look forward to the opportunity to make learning both fun and meaningful. Whether it is written expression, CAPT or SAT English prep, study skills or executive functioning I will work with each student, special education and regular education, to match their personal learning style to the task at hand.
After working for 31 years as a high school LD Specialist my expertise falls within this area, however during my years of teaching I have also worked very closely with regular education students. I have successfully written curriculum with the English department to meet the needs of all students within secondary English and Writing courses and still love finding new ways to introduce information in a meaningful fashion. Learning comes in many styles and it is my job to assist each student in getting to the point of full understanding of the material.
Even though I took early retirement I have found that I cannot totally leave the field of education. I look forward to each and every one of my tutorial sessions and really find the one to one involvement to be such a rewarding experience. I am known for my easy rapport with students and my ability to reach even the most difficult challenge. I truly give my all when working with students and do find teaching to be my passion.
I look forward to meeting you and working with your child. Anne

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
