Rochester Institute of Technology (Illustration)
Dear parents and potential students,
My name is Stevie T. and I recently graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a BFA in Illustration. I am an artist, and I excel at a number of mediums which include, but are not limited to, drawing, painting, designing, the Adobe Suite, (Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, etc.) Microsoft Office, Autodesk Maya, video making and software, YouTube, game-making software, (such as RPG MAKER), goal setting, and organization.
In school over the years, my teachers with whom I was excelling and going above and beyond with would choose me to assist those who were struggling, and ever since then, I have learned to love and enjoy teaching and helping others. I have often found myself having to simplify subject matter that I am passionate about to be able to communicate it to those who are unfamiliar with it, and as such, I have become able to break down complex and in-depth topics into sizable and understandable pieces. I am very patient, and my overall demeanor is always pleasant and caring. I thoroughly enjoy the magical "aha" moment where someone finally grasps a concept. It is most fulfilling.
I am thoughtful, team oriented, and driven by an intense passion for aiding others and society at large. I have a powerful desire to be efficient and time sensitive with everything that I do. I have taken on many leadership positions in my life and during my time in school, and I am intrigued by the opportunity to continue this trend and refine my skills and abilities with future experiences to come.
As a child, I always sought to capture on paper and replicate exactly what I had seen in life, whether it was everyday objects, favorite characters or even environments. At the time I found that I was not nearly skilled enough to do so properly. I was just not practiced enough at drawing yet to get it just right. This annoyed me; I was not okay with subpar work that failed to get my idea across and failed to capture the beauty of the original subject matter. My passion for Art and Illustration was ignited with the desire to accomplish that which was unattainable as a child... and I have come a long way since then. I am a perfectionist. I strive to do the very best that I can in my work and my life. Dear parents and potential students,

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been drawing since the age of two. Art has played a big role in my life and it has always allowed me to excel beyond the mould as well as giving me an ultimate purpose in life. Art has given me everything I have. I went to college for Illustration and graduated Magna Cum Laude, and there is almost never a day where art and drawing don't come into play in terms of what I am doing and how I'm doing it.
Rochester Institute of Technology has trained me to be an effective artist—I am like a toolbox of sorts, capable of tackling every artwork and visual media related project or obstacle and overcoming it by utilizing my extensive faculties.
Much of my job positions have included Graphic Design as a fundamental part of my work, whether it was creating imagery and assets for Voyetra Turtle Beach, (Gaming Headsets & Audio) designing banners, marquees, branding, advertisements, and assets with the Treehouse Internet Marketing Group for clients all over the United States and Canada, or even submitting designs and illustrations for Reporter Magazine in College. It has always been a part of my art life.
I love intrinsically beautiful, informed, and elegant design and have a distinct attention to detail and craftsmanship with my work and processes.
I have been using Windows all my life. From Windows 98 when I was a young kid, to XP where I spent countless hours playing around with and exploring, and even today where (even though I'm an artist) I use Windows 7 on my home pc. I have been able to successfully and consistently help others with Windows issues, make their computers run faster and more efficiently, and diagnose and fix whatever issues they were facing.
