I am a state-certified History & Social Studies secondary (7-12) teacher. I have been teaching history for 8 years, 4 years to 7th graders, and 4 years to 9 and 10th graders. I have also taught Spanish and French as a long-term substitute. I learned Spanish and French while living in Spain and France.
During this time I have also been a tutor to a number of students in history, math and Spanish. I have adapted the lessons I develop in the classroom for students trying to keep up with the material outside the classroom. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have used Microsoft Word for 20 years in several different settings. I write letters, reports, resumes, and tables, all of which require different formatting features, margins, headers, footers, fonts, page and section breaks, and lots of other tools. I have used it for school and my jobs. How these files are stored and sharing these files are also important factors because there are many different versions of Microsoft Word, both on MACs and PCs.
